The Search for Meaning in Modern Life

http://www.wakingtimes.com/2018/01/05/search-meaning-modern-life/

“Whether rationally, instinctively, or deep in our hearts, most of us know that something is not right about how human societies are managed. Human life is not yet in balance…

We are manipulated by our mainstream medias at unprecedented levels, and constantly fed with a controlled flow of information. This process is the old mind of humanity, still operating through control, censorship, and consumerism. In this way our contemporary societies are increasingly centered around emotion to a degree that allows people to be entertained as well as manipulated like never before…

Ancient religious-spiritual traditions have long talked about ‘energy predators’ that are said to feed off from unstable human mental and emotional states. The early gnostic Christians referred to some of these as the Archons; various North American Indian tribes refer to Wetiko/Wendigo; Don Juan in the Carlos Castenada  books refers to the Predators; and South American shamans have long talked of spirits that feed off from and fragment the vulnerable human inner state/soul.

We must wonder why it is that our modern cultures promote entertainments that manipulate and play upon excessively distorted images of mental and emotional anguish as well as exaggerated portrayals of sexuality… These forms of stimulation directly target a person’s mental, emotional, and physical states, which in turn hampers the operation of harmonious, developmental energies.

Modern life is increasingly a life addicted to high stimulation. Yet by its very nature it also creates anxiety. Many people are forced, or seduced, into lives that are continually stressful and busy. There is no room for the spaces, the intervals, of internal reflection…

A whole society can be distracted. There is a pertinent analogy here to how, in 256AD, the Persian army took Antioch from the Roman Empire. Many of the inhabitants were attending the roman theatre and were oblivious to the enemy archers who had climbed up behind them into the stands. The actors down below had seen the enemy archers and were desperately trying to warn them with hand signals, but the audience did not understand, thinking it part of the entertainment – until it was too late. They were amused up to the point of death. Perhaps we too, in the words of social critic Neil Postman, are ‘Amusing ourselves to Death.’”

The Demoralized Mind

https://newint.org/columns/essays/2016/04/01/psycho-spiritual-crisis

“[M]ost people today are unable to identify any sort of philosophy of life or set of guiding principles…

Human culture has mutated into a sociopathic marketing machine dominated by economic priorities and psychological manipulation. Never before has a cultural system inculcated its followers to suppress so much of their humanity. Leading this hostile takeover of the collective psyche are increasingly sophisticated propaganda and misinformation industries… Today’s consumers are by far the most propagandized people in history. The relentless and repetitive effect is highly hypnotic, diminishing critical faculties, reducing one’s sense of self, and transforming commercial unreality into a surrogate for meaning and purpose…

For the younger generation, the course of boredom, disappointment, disillusion and demoralization is almost inevitable. As the products of invisible parents, commercialized education, cradle-to-grave marketing and a profoundly boring and insane cultural programme, they must also assimilate into consumer culture while knowing from the outset that its workings are destroying the planet and jeopardizing their future. Understandably, they have become the trance generation, with an insatiable appetite for any technology that can downsize awareness and blunt the emotions. With society in existential crisis, and emotional life on a steep downward trajectory, trance is today’s fastest-growing consumer market…

We are long overdue a cultural revolution that would force a radical revamp of the political process, economics, work, family and environmental policy. It is true that a society of demoralized people is unlikely to revolt even though it sits on a massive powder keg of pent-up frustration… With its infrastructure firmly entrenched, and minimal signs of collective resistance, all signs suggest that our obsolete system – what some call ‘disaster capitalism’ – will prevail until global catastrophe dictates for us new cultural directions.”

The History of Main Stream Media’s Brainwashing Campaign

http://www.thedailysheeple.com/the-history-of-mainstream-medias-brainwashing-campaign_072017

“The media has had a long history of brainwashing the public. Finding its roots in communist regimes such as the former Soviet Union and China, propaganda is now the most dangerous weapon of mass destruction and it is constantly being used on the unaware American public…

The goal is the destruction of capitalism, or in layman’s terms, the complete abolition of economic freedom. Whether one believes that the media is deceiving them or not makes no difference, the propaganda will still work. (Please Google “Operation Mockingbird”, or follow this link.)  Unfortunately, you can fool some people all of the time, or all the people some of the time. But you can’t fool all the people all of the time…

Without propaganda and brainwashing, leftist policies would have died decades ago. People are born wanting freedom from tyranny.  It takes an effective campaign starting in childhood to change their minds and support their masters willingly while decrying those who seek actual freedom from oppression

If ever anyone wants to know why alternative media has gained a foothold, it’s for the simple fact that those who dare to question the mainstream media’s version of events; are to be labeled as false and “conspiracy theorists,” even though their views obviously make the most sense. Conspiracy theorists don’t only have to believe in alien abduction or reptilian creatures anymore. Now, all they have to do is question authority or the media’s scripted version of events; and that was by design as well…

Wake up and question everything. Start to understand freedom. Follow the money trails…

Ask any American today and they will tell you that slavery is wrong, yet when you lay out the factual and logical case that the US government is a corporation which owns them, they get physically uncomfortable. And virtually no media outlet will print this simple truth because they would lose money. That’s a big red flag that the brainwashing has been successful in the democracy and soon-to-be USSA.”

How Reality is Being Manufactured

http://www.activistpost.com/2017/04/how-reality-is-being-manufactured.html

“If you’re sitting around on a couch all day watching CNN tell you about how Assad is a scary monster and we have to go to war and blow him up, and oh my god, North Korea is gonna bomb us all, and we’re all gonna die because China this and Russia that, then you’re going to be living in perpetual fear, and anything that the government does in the name of that fear, you will support.

You’re going to be much more supportive of bombing wherever, locations most people probably can’t even point out on a map if they tried.  They don’t even care.  ‘Sure, bomb ’em all, because I’m afraid. They’re gonna get me! Bomb ’em all. I’m scared.’ And support mass genocide and preemptive regime change, drone strike wars and depleted uranium being unleashed upon — It’s just disgusting, the number of things, the atrocities, the human rights violations that will be supported by people who are continuously kept in a state of total fear…

If all you’re living on is a steady diet of Main Stream Media fear porn and government war propaganda, then what are you going to take away from that? What is your behavior going to be like in relation to that? …

The quality of the condition which manifests in any society is based upon the aggregate quality of behavior within that society, behavior that is based upon the quality of the available information, the information which is being controlled via the world wide web, which was created by DARPA and militarized before it ever came to the consumer.

It’s a hive mind.

The web is being used as a digital hive mind. It’s the matrix. They’ve embedded everyone into it, and now they’re herding it like a digital hive mind. And that is how reality is now being built. They are getting us to not only consent to, but to help manifest horrible realities based on lies, psychological manipulation, and ultimately, our fear.” ~Melissa Dykes

Becoming Addiction-Free

https://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2017/02/becoming-addiction-free/

“The insidious thing about addictions is that all addictions weaken the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of your brain associated with self-discipline and willpower. The more addictions you have, the weaker your self-regulation abilities become, which increases your susceptibility to further addictions. One addiction tends to invite others, and pretty soon you find yourself with a half-dozen addictions, although you may only be consciously aware of one or two of them…

The truth is that all addictions weaken us. Addictions lower our ability to discipline ourselves. They derail our best plans to one degree or another. They cause us to live more compulsively and less consciously. And as so many people report after overcoming a major addiction, life is better on the other side. It can take a lot of patience and resolve to get there though.

Even if it takes years, if we truly want to live consciously, then becoming addiction-free must be our gold standard in this area. Even if we never reach it, it’s wise to hold this standard as our goalpost. The closer we get to it, the better off we’ll be.

Imagine what your life would be like with no addictions. You’d be more disciplined than ever. You’d have the ability to make conscious choices in each moment. You wouldn’t have repetitive compulsions wasting your time or renting space in your mind. Your thinking would be more rational. You’d enjoy more freedom. You’d have more energy and better focus. You’d probably save money, and you’d surely save time.

It takes a lot of strength to face an addiction. It can take even more strength to face the demons hiding behind that addiction… Since addictions take us out of alignment with truth, we must do our best to shed them, no matter how difficult the challenge.” ~Steve Pavlina

All these social movements that we’re seeing at the moment, this division in society… people in the streets, and violence and hate and great disturbance… It is NOT an ideological war. It is NOT a conflict of principles and values from left-leaning liberals and democrats against right-leaning conservatives and republicans. It is not that. It is not about border-less oneness or bordering nationhood. It’s not that. And it has nothing to do with racism, or sexism, or xenophobia, or bigotry, or any of that…

What we are seeing now, in the world today, is the earth shattering difference between the free human and the conditioned human. And that’s it. Take the politics right out of it. Forget it. We are seeing a sort of Grand Canyon between the self-determining, awakened, natural, sovereign man and the profoundly conditioned, sleepwalking robots; those who can think freely, and those who cannot.” ~Neil Kramer

The Psychology of Soft Slavery

http://www.wakingtimes.com/2017/01/13/psychology-soft-slavery/

“[H]ard slavery is overt, it’s apparent and self-evident. Nothing is hidden. Who the slave and the master are is very clear. Soft slavery, on the other hand, is covert. It is neither apparent, nor self-evident. Everything is hidden behind comfort, apathy, security, convenience, indifference, and the illusion of freedom. Who the slave and the master are is not clear and is typically obscured by an unhealthy hierarchy that leads to public confusion between authority based on fear and authority based on free and transparent leadership, which in turn, can lead to a political cognitive dissonance and the pathetic stance of, “It’s just the way things are.”

Unfortunately, the spirit of the times under the rule of statism, is one of soft slavery. Statists, living in a world ruled by nation states and deceived by the illusion of freedom, are more akin to the house slaves from the times of hard slavery than to free human beings. The house slave of today is the typical state citizen just going through the motions, unaware of the extent of their own slavery. So caught up are they in the “rules” and the “laws” of the land, they cannot see how desperate their situation really is…

So what are we to do? How do we prevent political cognitive dissonance from making victims of us? We begin by questioning things; rules, laws, cultural norms, even the truth as we know it. It requires getting uncomfortable. We must be able to dig down deep and question our political perceptions and weigh them against morality, health, freedom, and love. We must not be afraid of getting uncomfortable, even at the expense of our security…

As it stands, we are suffering at the hands of fear-based authority the world over, due to the rampant overreach of nation states ruling over us using outdated laws that propagate a culture of soft slavery, which keeps the rich richer (powerful) and the poor, poorer (powerless). And behold, our soft slavery has become a plutocracy despite the free democracy we all yearn for.

True leaders question authority. Indeed, the leadership of a free people must be a courage-based leadership that dares to draw a line in the sand against fear-based authority. It’s not only freedom that hangs in the balance, but the future of our species.”
